Alternate meditation and writing practice in a “Dharma and Writing” retreat taught by Sandy alone. Celebrating the Feminine Divine

In this daylong retreat, we may discover that Kwan Yin, the Celestial Bodhisattva of compassion, exists most powerfully in our deepest nature. Come experience profound rest and peace through sitting and walking meditation, guided visualization, music, chanting and a short writing exercise.

Come join us as we bring joy and mindful attention to a variety of repair and renovation projects at this desert oasis. Organized work projects a.m. and p.m. with group meditation sessions three times daily. First week begins October 1, but Sandy will be there teaching from Oct 10 through 14, drawing you to the Dhamma and into a deeper communion with the spirit of Kwan Yin.

In this daylong, Shahara and Sandy, both survivors of life-threatening illness, will help us settle into relaxation and self-acceptance, and guide us in applying our meditative awareness to life’s emergencies. Through writing, music and sacred dance, held in the cradle of meditation, we will explore and share our compassionate healing capacities.

Join Martha and Sandy at their annual New Year’s retreat and celebration. Plenty of time to sink into silence, explore our experience of the last year and ponder what may come to us as the year turns. Through sitting and walking meditation, ritual dance, interactive exercises and writing, we are invited to settle peacefully into our sacred beings. The retreat takes place in the peaceful environment of a Zen monastery where we are lovingly taken care of by the female and male monks.
