
PUBLICATIONS
Sandy has been publishing stories, essays and articles—at first in literary journals like Epoch, The Antioch Review and The Laurel Review, then in mainstream publications like Ms. Magazine and the San Francisco Chronicle, and many of the feminist and lesbian-feminist magazines of the seventies, eighties and nineties. More recently her pieces appear in Buddhist periodicals.
Her work has been anthologized in 25 story or essay collections from publishers such as Doubleday, Putnam and Penguin, as well as feminist publishers such as the Crossing Press and Persephone Press.
She has served as editor or guest-editor for several magazines and numerous individual authors.

Guest Editor of Inquiring Mind: Sandy was the guest editor of the Spring 2015 final issue of Inquiring Mind. The theme of the issue was "Tradition and Innovation in the Dharma." She guest-edited two previous issues of Inquiring Mind: Fall 2010 on “Enlightenment” and Fall 2011 on “Bodhisattva.”
